Today, in partnership with Hunter Hotels, we've made a lasting impact at Harkerville Primary School's Grade R playground. Mandela Day is not just a day of remembrance, but a call to action, embodying the true spirit of our founder, President Nelson Mandela. We are honoured to continue his legacy!

Hunter Hotels, one of our donors, generously sponsored their team to complete labour and baking for today's occasion. Their dedication ensured that a new sandpit was built, swings were repaired, and vibrant hopscotch was painted outside the Grade R classroom. Additionally, a shaded area will soon provide comfort over the sandpit, ensuring our little learners can play safely under the sun.

To add to the celebration, chefs from our three restaurants baked delicious Mandela Day cakes, bringing smiles to each and every student. It was truly heartwarming to have Mr. and Mrs. Hunter with us; Mr. Hunter's support dates back 15 years when he was the first to offer assistance to the then newly appointed principal, Mrs. Chantal Mahmood. Their presence made this a momentous occasion for Harkerville Primary, reconnecting with a school they've supported for years. 

In a special gesture from The Paint Centre in Plett, three 5L cans of paving paint were donated to Wittedrift (Stofpad) Primary School. This generous gift will allow them to complete painting games and hopscotch in their quad, enriching the play and learning experience for their students. 

Playgrounds are vital hubs for children's social, physical, and cognitive development. They foster teamwork and communication skills as children navigate playground equipment together. Physical activity on playgrounds enhances motor skills, balance, and coordination, crucial for academic success and overall well-being. By creating safe and stimulating environments, we're nurturing future leaders and bright minds.
