Plett Arts Festival

The annual Plett Arts Festival is a great opportunity for our talented local artists to showcase work produced over the year. The festival opens on the evening of Friday September 30th and runs daily until Saturday October 8th. For more information go to www.pletttourism.co.za

This year, the Arts Association introduces the theme: Beautiful Plett, Local is Lekker, so come and enjoy paintings of the beautiful nature surrounding us: landscapes, seascapes, flora and fauna, and even digital art. The good news is that artists are kindly donating income from sales in support of projects initiated by Bitou10 Foundation. Some paintings will be on sale at the giveaway price of R100.00!

Local artists are presently tutoring learners at Plettenberg Bay Secondary School; their work will also be exhibited, with proceeds going directly to these young artists. The Arts Association has donated materials.

The exhibition will be officially opened on Saturday October 1st, the event to be celebrated with live music performed by the Field Band and the Kwanokuthula Primary School Choir.

Ongoing projects at Plettenberg Bay Secondary School and Kwanokuthula Primary School are sponsored by the Bitou10 Foundation. See www.bitou10foundation.com for further information about this educational initiative.

A silent auction, in which prospective buyers make a written offer, will be ongoing from Saturday through Wednesday, when the results will be announced by our lively auctioneer, Francois Wolfhaardt.
