The emergence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) increased the need for teachers to have a good foundation in digital skills and be prepared for the challenges of a new technological world; and for learners to acquire the skills that will help them to prosper in the world of tomorrow and become contributors to the 4IR rather than just passive bystanders.

In this context, teachers, as well as learners, will benefit from the opportunities that E-learning provides through the implementation of a learning system based on traditional teaching, supplemented through the use of electronic resources/ technology as an enabler to the provision of quality education.

The programme, piloted at Kwanokuthula Primary School, aims to provide learners with basic computer literacy skills and access to an educational software system, aligned to CAPS, to improve their mathematical and language skills.
